MEDITATION. We can’t always control what goes on around us but we can learn to control how we react to and internalize what happens in our outer world. The music on this album is designed to support and enhance the meditation process. Meditation is an inner training of our mental processes in order to attain a calm state of centered balance, awareness and spiritual expansiveness. It can have immense benefits for our spiritual and physical wellbeing. Meditation is much more than a relaxation technique for through its process of focused concentration, we can attain a quality of mindfulness and compassion that enhances every aspect of our lives.

Artist Background:
DEAN AND DUDLEY EVENSON are sound healing pioneers who met in 1968 and have been life partners on a spiritual quest ever since. Dean received a Masters Degree in Molecular Biology and has played flute since he was ten years old, performing in classical, folk, rock and world groups along the way. Dudley’s background is in photography, art history, writing and guided meditations. The Evensons have joined their passions to create visionary music and media. In the 1970s, they traveled with their family in a converted school bus, raising their children and documenting the emerging consciousness with their video ‘portapack.’ They have practiced yoga and meditation for four decades.
In 1979, they founded Soundings of the Planet and have collaborated with outstanding musicians from around the world, producing over 60 albums of their healing and world music that are extremely popular with yoga and healthcare practitioners. Their award-winning music is endorsed by leading mind-body authors including Joan Borysenko, Deepak Chopra, Larry Dossey and country singer Naomi Judd who used it in healing from her liver disease. Their music has been used at Walter Reed Army Medial Center to help returning combat veterans deal with PTSD and wounds of war. The Evensons teach workshops and online courses on meditation and sound healing and perform live sharing their music and meditations.
